When it was time for the girls to come home, we were able to bring two of my nieces back. I tried to keep them busy by doing something fun with them each day. Turned out they enjoyed just hanging out the most!! (Crazy me, I don't know why I think that I should do more!)
I was usually greeted every morning with Rock Band. The country disc was more popular, but I still can't get one of the rock songs out of my head. They played it over and over and over again!! I can't forget the hours we spent walking the mall. One time with the two older girls and one time with the two younger girls. On one of the trips my cute little niece started singing quite loudly, all I could do was laugh. Way to belt it, I thought, then I shushed her a little when people started to stare!Or the time when the older cousin got the giant gum ball and stuck the entire thing into her mouth! She couldn't even talk!! Funny funny. I can't believe how much girls like to shop!! YIKES, I have three, T. is in big trouble!!!
We thought we would hit the dollar store when we saw the there were clouds rolling in, that way Sugar wouldn't get too hot. As soon as we shut the door, sheets of rain came down. I had left the windows cracked in the car, so we got to go swimming when we got back into the car! (not really, but everything was soaked!) Poor Sugar, she hates storms so she was pretty shaken. She really didn't have a good day. :o( The kids decided to make a lemonade stand a few days prior to the g of g. I thought it would be an hour or so and they would be home. Nope, six hours!! I finally made them come home! It was very profitable for them. They made $34!! Not too bad for 50 cents a cup! I was really proud of them!
Finally our most exciting thing was going to E!!! We spent the entire day at this park, from opening to close! All the adults were begging the kids to go home, that happened when they stopped running rides! Boy did all of our feet hurt! My favorite ride was the boomerang!
The next day we thought we needed to have more fun and ventured out and rode the river on inner-tubes! (Which getting the tubes was quite an ordeal with one exploding in my sister-in-laws hands, but we did get a tube for free! Thanks Mr. Mech.!!) I enjoyed staying dry, but R. and the girls loved riding the rapids! Even grandpa got brave and did it!! Way to go Gramps!!
This summer has been the busiest one I have yet to remember! I hope my kids don't think this will happen every year! Next summer would be great doing nothing!! Hahahaha, like that will ever happen! So, Goodbye summer, it was sure fun........till next year!
