Goodbye Summer....Hello School!!

Yesterday the kids started school for the 2010-2011 school year.  My heart was happy and yet sad to see them growing!!  It was a big day for us.  H. started kindergarten and K. was starting middle school.  On top of that, they all started at a new school.  Lots of stress of getting everything in order and trying to remember the new rules and things.  I feel that I have aged 10yrs!! The reports are all good when they got home.  PHEW!!! I can officially relax now. (Well for at least a little minute!!)

T. was in charge of getting the older kids out and on their way.  They still had to pick up their schedules, nothing like being completely lost on your first day!  They all got it figured out with little tears. :o(  Poor K. was really nerveous, but talked my ear off when I picked her up (good sign).  R. was glad to be there, he has three or four classes with his friends, so he is thrilled!

I was in charge of taking the little girls.  Started off ok, but didn't give myself enough time to get M. there early like we had hoped.  It was hard to leave her because there was lots and lots of tears.  (Mostly from me, I think :o()  Then H. and I ran to H. room, late of coarse. "Happy first day of school", I thought.   She walks in sits in her desk and gave me the "you can leave now look"!

What extremes I have!  I was walking back to the car with tears,  So up set I couldn't find my car, had to park a million miles away, but after walking up and down the street, and passing it once, I finally found it!  Oh, I knew that this day was going to be a doosie!!  I'm not a superstitious person, but I think the black squirle that crossed my path earlier was a sign. Strange....anyway,  I am just glad that yesterday is done and today is here!

What a whirlwind of a day! I know I'll be the same way when my baby starts school - most of the tears will probably come from me! Now that all your kids are in school you are free to eat bon bons all day, right?? Ha Ha!

You did it! I am proud of you. It is hard and it doesn't get any easier each year---at least for me. The first day and even the first week is emotional and lonely for me. Do we need ice cream?????
